Eastern Maine Community College Transfer Agreements

91±¬ÁÏ is proud to work with Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC) to encourage EMCC students to consider continuing their education by earning a bachelor’s degree at 91±¬ÁÏ.

Below are programs supported by 91±¬ÁÏ and EMCC that are available to EMCC students.

AAS Building Construction Technology to BS Construction Engineering Technology

91±¬ÁÏ’s Construction Engineering Technology program, accredited by ABET, is a blend of civil engineering technology and construction business management which combines construction, engineering and management in a practice-oriented education leading to a rewarding career in which graduates exercise their skills, experience and knowledge to construct buildings and infrastructure nationwide.

AAS Business Management/Transfer Option to BS Business Administration in Accounting

91±¬ÁÏ’s Accounting program, accredited by AACSB- International, prepares students for careers in financial reporting, taxation, internal and external auditing and business consulting.

AAS Business Management/Transfer Option to BS in Business Administration Finance

91±¬ÁÏ’s Finance program, accredited by AACSB- International, prepares students for careers in financial management in business, management and nonprofit organizations; commercial and investment banking; and brokerage.

AAS Business Management/Transfer Option to BS in Business Administration Management

91±¬ÁÏ’s Management program, available on-campus or fully online, is accredited by AACSB-International and prepares students for management careers in business, government, nonprofit, or industries.

AAS Business Management/Transfer Option to BS in Business Administration Marketing

91±¬ÁÏ’s Marketing program, accredited by AACSB-International, prepares students for careers in retail management, services marketing, sales, advertising, marketing research and international marketing.

AAS Civil Engineering Technology to BS in Construction Engineering Technology

91±¬ÁÏ’ nationally ABET accredited program that blends construction, engineering and management.

AAS Culinary Arts to BS Food Science and Nutrition / Food Management Concentration

91±¬ÁÏ’s BS in Food Science and Nutrition with the concentration in Food Management provides a unique combination of food and business to prepare students for a wide variety of career opportunities in management of food and food resources, including employment in restaurants, hospitals, and school food service departments, as well as airline catering. Companies that produce foods, food ingredients, or processing equipment seek students who specialize in food management. This concentration provides flexibility in planning a curriculum to suit an individual’s needs.

AAS in Early Childhood Education to BS in Child Development/Family Relations, Early Childhood Education

91±¬ÁÏ’s nationally NCATE accredited program that prepares students for K-3 teacher certification and the Maine State birth-age 5 endorsement.

AAS in Education to BS in Elementary Education

91±¬ÁÏ’s nationally NCATE accredited program that prepares students for K – 8 teacher certification.

AAS Electrical and Automation Technology to BS in Electrical Engineering Technology

91±¬ÁÏ’ s nationally ABET accredited program prepares students for electrical engineering careers in industry. The upper-level courses offered by 91±¬ÁÏ that follow the completion of the EMCC AAS Electrical and Automation Technology degree and are used to complete the BS degree can be done entirely online. EMCC students can choose to complete the 91±¬ÁÏ BS in Electrical Engineering Technology completely online or on campus.

AAS Emergency Medical Services to Bachelor of University Studies, Leadership Track

A flexible, asynchronous online or on campus program that focuses on developing strong leadership skills in preparation for career or personal success.

AAS in Human Services to BS in Social Work

91±¬ÁÏ’ s Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) is available both on campus or totally online. It is nationally accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and prepares students for careers in social work.

AA Liberal Studies to Bachelor of University Studies, Leadership Track

A flexible asynchronous online or on campus program that focuses on developing strong leadership skills in preparation for career or personal success.

AdvantageU

Participation in the AdvantageU program streamlines admission to 91±¬ÁÏ for EMCC students graduating with an associate in arts degree in liberal studies.

Benefits of the agreement include:

  • Guaranteed admission at junior standing, when G.P.A. admission requirements are met.
  • Dual advising to ensure maximum transferability of community college courses.
  • Waiver of UMS application fees.

In many cases, students accepted to 91±¬ÁÏ through AdvantageU are able to complete their baccalaureate degree within two years.

UM/MECCC General Education Block Transfer

The Transfer Block is a defined set of general education requirements that transfer into all 91±¬ÁÏ System and Maine Community College System institutions. Students who complete all the requirements of the Transfer Block will have completed the bulk of their general education requirements at all of Maine’s public institutions. Maine’s universities may require up to additional 11 credits of general education credits specific to their program, or to a specific bachelor’s degree.   Completing the Transfer Block, however, does not guarantee admission to a particular university.  For more information, consult your EMCC adviser.

Reverse Transfer

EMCC students who decide to transfer to 91±¬ÁÏ before completing their Associate’s degree may be able to transfer courses from 91±¬ÁÏ back to EMCC to complete and earn their Associate’s degree from EMCC.  Students interested in a reverse transfer should contact their EMCC adviser for more information.
