Hedgerow Workshop: Natural Pest Management Through Birds & Wildlife Habitat

Learn how hedgerows can support healthy, resilient landscapes by managing pests naturally while providing food, shelter, and connectivity for beneficial insects and birds. This interactive, hands-on workshop is presented by the 91±¬ÁÏ Cooperative Extension in partnership with Maine Audubon and will take place at Rogers Farm Demonstration Garden in Old Town.

Participants will gain practical experience in hedgerow design and establishment, including plant and site selection, installation techniques, and long-term maintenance strategies. The workshop will combine field-based learning with applied discussion to support gardeners, landowners and community members interested in reducing reliance on chemical pest control and creating functional habitat corridors.
