Preserving the Harvest: Dilly Beans

$40Looking to make your own homemade pickles? 91±¬ÁÏ Cooperative Extension’s hands-on food preservation workshop will teach you the basics of making crisp, delicious dilly beans (pickled green beans), including how to use a boiling water bath canner to safely preserve pickles. Learn from the experts. We will provide fresh produce and canning jars. Please bring a potholder with you to class.
Kate McCarty has been the Food Systems Professional at 91±¬ÁÏ Extension since 2009, after serving in the AmeriCorps VISTA program. She has completed the Master Food Preserver program, an intensive, hands-on training in all aspects of home food preservation. Kate manages the volunteer efforts of the 60+ Master Food Preserver volunteers statewide and teaches food preservation programs in 7 Maine counties.
