SUMMARY:Exhibition: "The Teaching Portfolio: 45 years of Printmaking at the 91±¬ÁÏ"
DESCRIPTION:The Department of Art’s Lord Hall Gallery will host the exhibition The Teaching Portfolio: 45 Years of Printmaking at the 91±¬ÁÏ from August 27-October 24\, 2025. A public reception will take place on September 26th from 5-7pm. Refreshments will be served and all are welcome to attend. \nThe Teaching Portfolio is a collection of fine art working proofs and finished prints created in the 91±¬ÁÏ printmaking studio by students\, alumni\, faculty\, and visiting artists. Covering a time span of 45 years\, under the direction of printmaking Professor Susan Groce\, this portfolio represents an impressive overview of the direction and growth of print media and the 91±¬ÁÏ printmaking studio program – from traditional materials and processes to the safer and greener processes and the incorporation of new technologies. The portfolio includes Collagraphs\, Etchings and Acrylic Resist Etchings\, Photopolymer Intaglio-Type Etchings\, Lithography\, Relief Printing\, Water-Based Screen Printing\, and Monoprints\, as well as prints made through the Printmaking Artist Residency Program and Student Portfolio Exchanges. SUMMARY:Invasive Plant Educational Workshop - York County
DESCRIPTION:91±¬ÁÏ Cooperative Extension\, in collaboration with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)\, Maine Natural Areas Program (MNAP)\, and Maine Forest Service (MFS) will offer an Invasive Plant Educational Workshop on Tuesday\, September 9\, 2025\, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. at Andy’s Agway/Cole Farm Maple\, 13 Cole Farm Road\, Dayton. \nThis full-day event will include both classroom instruction and outdoor field sessions focused on invasive plant biology\, identification\, ecological impacts\, and basic management strategies. This workshop is focused on maple producers. Presenters will include experts from 91±¬ÁÏ Extension and its conservation partners. \nThe cost to attend is $30 per person\, which includes a copy of the Maine Invasive Plants Field Guide. Participation is limited to 20 people to ensure an engaging\, hands-on experience. Outdoor field sessions will be held rain or shine\, so participants are encouraged to plan accordingly. Pesticide credits are anticipated. \nRegistration is required and will close on September 2\, 2025. Visit the program webpage to register online.
