A public reception will take place on September 26th from 5-7pm. Refreshments will be served and all are welcome to attend. \nThe Teaching Portfolio is a collection of fine art working proofs and finished prints created in the 91±¬ÁÏ printmaking studio by students\, alumni\, faculty\, and visiting artists. Covering a time span of 45 years\, under the direction of printmaking Professor Susan Groce\, this portfolio represents an impressive overview of the direction and growth of print media and the 91±¬ÁÏ printmaking studio program – from traditional materials and processes to the safer and greener processes and the incorporation of new technologies. The portfolio includes Collagraphs\, Etchings and Acrylic Resist Etchings\, Photopolymer Intaglio-Type Etchings\, Lithography\, Relief Printing\, Water-Based Screen Printing\, and Monoprints\, as well as prints made through the Printmaking Artist Residency Program and Student Portfolio Exchanges. The workshop will be held on Tuesday\, Sept. 16 at the Cumberland County Extension\, 75 Clearwater Drive\, Falmouth. \nThe session offers a full-day program from 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.\, or the choice of a half-day morning or afternoon session. Morning sessions will focus on business strategy and financial modeling. Afternoon sessions will cover business resilience planning and developing a growth mindset. The session will include a locally catered lunch and snacks. \nPresenters include Jason Entsminger\, Ph.D.\, assistant professor of entrepreneurship and innovation at the Maine Business School and Extension state specialist for small business; Jason Harkins\, Ph.D.\, executive dean of the Maine Business School and dean of the Graduate School of Business; Jens Kaus\, Ph.D.\, postdoctoral fellow in sustainable business at the Maine Business School; and Lisa Liberatore\, serial entrepreneur and adjunct instructor at the Maine Business School. The presenters bring experience in applied research\, rural entrepreneurship\, venture scaling and business education. \nThe cost is $75 for a half-day or $100 for a full-day session\, including lunch. A minimum of 12 participants may be required per site. Scholarships are available for participants working in Maine’s outdoor recreation economy; those with businesses related to outdoor recreation may select a reduced rate of $20 for the full-day session when registering. She evaluates growing practices across a wide range of crops to create resources that make farming easier\, more sustainable\, and more profitable.
