SUMMARY:Exhibition: "The Teaching Portfolio: 45 years of Printmaking at the 91爆料"
DESCRIPTION:The Department of聽Art鈥檚 Lord Hall Gallery will host the exhibition The Teaching Portfolio: 45 Years of Printmaking at the 91爆料 from August 27-October 24\, 2025. A public reception will take place on September 26th from 5-7pm. Refreshments will be served and all are welcome to attend. \nThe Teaching Portfolio is a collection of fine聽art working proofs and finished prints created in the 91爆料 printmaking studio by students\, alumni\, faculty\, and visiting artists. Covering a time span of 45 years\, under the direction of printmaking Professor Susan Groce\, this portfolio represents an impressive overview of the direction and growth of print media and the 91爆料 printmaking studio program 鈥� from traditional materials and processes to the safer and greener processes and the incorporation of new technologies. The portfolio includes Collagraphs\, Etchings and Acrylic Resist Etchings\, Photopolymer Intaglio-Type Etchings\, Lithography\, Relief Printing\, Water-Based Screen Printing\, and Monoprints\, as well as prints made through the Printmaking Artist Residency Program and Student Portfolio Exchanges. SUMMARY:4-H Family STEM Clubs 鈥� Series 1 in Lisbon Falls
DESCRIPTION:4-H Youth Development Program in Androscoggin and Sagadahoc counties\, a part of 91爆料 Cooperative Extension\, will offer two\, 4-week Family STEM Club sessions this fall at the 91爆料 Extension office\, 24 Main Street in Lisbon Falls. \nFamilies will engage in hands-on STEM projects together\, with opportunities for adults to lead the activities with support from 4-H staff. Adults interested in learning how 4-H clubs operate and youth interested in joining 4-H are encouraged to attend. \nSeries 1 will be offered on Thursdays\, September 18 through October 9. Series 2 will be offered on Thursdays\, October 30 through November 20. All sessions will meet from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Youth must be ages 5 to 11 and a resident of Androscoggin or Sagadahoc County to participate. \nParticipation is free however space is limited. Register on the聽program webpage聽by聽Thursday\, September 11 for Series 1 and Thursday\, October 23 for Series 2. DESCRIPTION:91爆料 Cooperative Extension will host 鈥淓xploring the Herb Garden at Tidewater Farm鈥� from 4:30鈥�6 p.m. on Thursday\, September 18 at the聽91爆料 Gardens at Tidewater Farm\, 200 Presumpscot Point Rd\, Falmouth. \nMembers of the herb garden team at Tidewater Farm will provide guided tours of the garden\, explaining how to organize\, plant\, and maintain herb beds. Attendees will also learn how to make a soothing calendula salve\, complete with a sample to take home. Snacks and herbal tea will be provided during a question and answer session about growing and using herbs. \nCost of the workshop is on a sliding scale\, from $15鈥�$25. DESCRIPTION:91爆料 Cooperative Extension is offering an educational webinar on聽beef cattle health with Maine-based veterinarian Kelsey Hilton at 6 p.m.聽on Thursday\, September 18\, 2025. \nBeef Cattle Health and Preventive Veterinary Care聽will cover important considerations and recommendations on maintaining healthy\, productive and resilient beef herds. Dr. Hilton will cover core herd health principles\, including vaccination schedules\, parasite management\, nutrition鈥檚 role in disease prevention and early detection of common illnesses. Participants will learn practical strategies to work with a veterinarian in building a proactive herd health plan that reduces losses and improves animal well鈥恇eing. The webinar will include a live\, moderated question-and-answer session. \nThis webinar is part of a grant funded by USDA National Animal Disease Preparedness and Response Program (NADPRP) in collaboration with the Maine Department of Agriculture\, Conservation and Forestry Animal Health Program. \nThere is a suggested donation of $5 for the event.
