A public reception will take place on September 26th from 5-7pm. Refreshments will be served and all are welcome to attend. \nThe Teaching Portfolio is a collection of fine art working proofs and finished prints created in the 91±¬ÁÏ printmaking studio by students\, alumni\, faculty\, and visiting artists. Covering a time span of 45 years\, under the direction of printmaking Professor Susan Groce\, this portfolio represents an impressive overview of the direction and growth of print media and the 91±¬ÁÏ printmaking studio program – from traditional materials and processes to the safer and greener processes and the incorporation of new technologies. The portfolio includes Collagraphs\, Etchings and Acrylic Resist Etchings\, Photopolymer Intaglio-Type Etchings\, Lithography\, Relief Printing\, Water-Based Screen Printing\, and Monoprints\, as well as prints made through the Printmaking Artist Residency Program and Student Portfolio Exchanges. We’ll guide you through the process\, from sowing seeds to transplanting seedlings\, using straightforward techniques that any gardener can apply. Topics will include seed sowing methods\, protecting your seeds and young plants from critters\, and dividing perennials in the spring. Ideal for gardeners who are new to starting native plants from seed. \nSpeaker: Pamela Hargest \nBio: \nPamela Hargest provides technical assistance to home\, school\, and community gardeners through a variety of educational programs designed to build horticultural skills and support individual goals. As the Master Gardener Volunteer Coordinator in Cumberland County\, she works closely with volunteers and community partners to develop educational initiatives that promote sustainable\, environmentally friendly gardening practices grounded in research-based information. Pamela also manages the 91±¬ÁÏ Gardens at Tidewater Farm\, a public garden and teaching site located in Falmouth. \nRegistration is required with a sliding scale program fee for each webinar.
