SUMMARY:Exhibition: "The Teaching Portfolio: 45 years of Printmaking at the 91±¬ÁĎ"
DESCRIPTION:The Department of Art’s Lord Hall Gallery will host the exhibition The Teaching Portfolio: 45 Years of Printmaking at the 91±¬ÁĎ from August 27-October 24\, 2025. A public reception will take place on September 26th from 5-7pm. Refreshments will be served and all are welcome to attend. \nThe Teaching Portfolio is a collection of fine art working proofs and finished prints created in the 91±¬ÁĎ printmaking studio by students\, alumni\, faculty\, and visiting artists. Covering a time span of 45 years\, under the direction of printmaking Professor Susan Groce\, this portfolio represents an impressive overview of the direction and growth of print media and the 91±¬ÁĎ printmaking studio program – from traditional materials and processes to the safer and greener processes and the incorporation of new technologies. The portfolio includes Collagraphs\, Etchings and Acrylic Resist Etchings\, Photopolymer Intaglio-Type Etchings\, Lithography\, Relief Printing\, Water-Based Screen Printing\, and Monoprints\, as well as prints made through the Printmaking Artist Residency Program and Student Portfolio Exchanges. DESCRIPTION:91±¬ÁĎ Cooperative Extension will hold a garlic growing workshop from 2 – 3 p.m. on Wednesday\, October 15 at 91±¬ÁĎ Extension Gardens at Tidewater Farm\, 200 Presumpscot Point Road in Falmouth. \nGrow Your Own Garlic is a hands-on opportunity to learn how to grow garlic from planting to harvest. In this interactive session\, instructors will discuss how to select garlic varieties\, plant garlic seed\, provide seasonal care\, and properly harvest\, cure\, and store your crop. DESCRIPTION:“Start Your 4-H Volunteer Journey” will provide participants with information about the 91±¬ÁĎ Extension 4-H program\, including key aspects of positive youth development and opportunities to help youth as a volunteer. The one-hour virtual sessions will also outline the application process for anyone interested in getting involved. \n4-H is a positive youth development program that empowers youth to “find their spark” and thrive. Volunteers play key roles in these experiences\, making a difference by helping youth explore and discover the skills they need to lead successful and fulfilling lives. Adults interested in starting a 4-H club\, sharing expertise and passion through shorter programs that last a few hours or a few weeks\, or assisting with local county 4-H events are encouraged to attend. \nThe informational sessions are free; registration is required on the program webpage.
