SUMMARY:Steve Forbes Meet & Greet and Speaking Event
DESCRIPTION:The 91±¬ÁĎ College Republicans will be hosting Steve Forbes to speak on Thursday April 30th. There will be a reception along with a meet and greet from 4:00pm to 5:00pm on the third floor of the CCA in the Bodwell Center. \nDuring the meet and greet students are able to mingle as we will be providing drinks and charcuterie and have the opportunity to casually speak with Forbes before the event begins or snag a quick photo. \nForbes is an American businessman\, publisher\, and political figure best known as the Editor-in-Chief of Forbes magazine\, a global business publication founded by his grandfather. He has been a prominent voice on economics\, entrepreneurship\, and free-market policies. Forbes also ran as a Republican candidate for president in 1996 and 2000\, advocating for a flat tax system and economic reform.\nMr. Forbes will begin speaking around 5:30pm and should wrap up around 6:30pm. DESCRIPTION:Groups help to create community to combat loneliness and isolation\, and increase connection and productivity at work\, within health care\, and with personal relationships.\nThis online program will provide an integrated approach and an indispensable tool box for bringing thoughtful\, nurturing\, empowering practice\, and strategy to relationships of all kinds through the facilitation of group work. \nThe assets of group work\, beyond cost effectiveness and reduced isolation for patients and group leaders alike\, can be utilized in many situations: teaching\, team meetings\, retreats\, psychoeducational issues in healthcare\, workshops\, community gatherings\, business settings\, sports teams\, counseling\, religious organizations\, and psychotherapy. \nThe combination of cognitive and experiential learning in this program will leave you with solid understanding\, skill\, and commitment to initiate group work practice in your professional\, personal\, and interpersonal settings. \nYou will become aware of your own responses to your clients\, patients\, students\, colleagues\, friends and family\, and improve your ability to regulate your affect with thought and sound judgment. \nYou will also see the role humor plays in facilitating group work and its connecting force of cohesiveness.
