SUMMARY:A Sustainability Frame of Mind: 91±¬ÁÏ’s Campus Sustainability Initiatives
DESCRIPTION:Come and learn about 91±¬ÁÏ campus sustainability initiatives. Don’t forget to bring your burning questions! \nThis talk will be presented by Dan Dixon\, who has two roles at the university of Maine. He is the campus sustainability director and a research associate with the university’s Climate Change Institute. In his role as sustainability director\, Dixon provides strategic direction and leadership to promote a culture of sustainability at the 91±¬ÁÏ. He is responsible for the overall management and oversight of the Office of Sustainability. He works closely with all levels of university leadership to advance the 91±¬ÁÏ’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and engages campus leaders to foster sustainability broadly across the institution. \nVenue: The Salon\, Fogler Library\, and Zoom. \nLight refreshments will be served.

DESCRIPTION:Please join Nick Rowley for a spring farm and garden series focused on vegetable production topics suitable for the home gardener to the farmer. There will be a total of four sessions\, a mix of classroom lectures and discussion\, and refreshments will be provided. Register for one or all. Attend virtually or in person.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn the basics behind building a compost pile and how compost can be utilized as a valuable soil amendment for vegetable production. \nRegistration is required\, and each session is limited to 20 participants.
