DESCRIPTION:Fermentation Friday takes place at the 91爆料 in Orono. During Fermentation Friday\, held at the 91爆料 Food Lab in Hitchner Hall\, participants cook\, create\, share\, and connect. Using recipes as starting points\, we explore fermentation\, storytelling\, food rescue\, and local food systems. Over the past four semesters\, we have hosted authors and chefs who have enriched our sessions with their expertise. \nOctober 10 鈥� Cultured Dairy\nOctober 24 鈥� All Hallowed Bagels & Spooky Spreads\nNovember 7 鈥� Cozy Drinks & Cookies\nNovember 21 鈥� Fermented Fixin鈥檚\nDecember 5 鈥� Festive Ferments \nAt the heart of the Fermentation Friday program is a commitment to foster deep connections. We strive to provide hands-on experiences that empower individuals to ferment and share stories while learning through observation\, exploration\, and reflection on our human relationship with microbes. \nFermentation Friday 鈥媔鈥媠 a cross-disciplinary space\, and it is our hope that it will 鈥嬧�媠park curiosity in 鈥媡he exciting emerging sciences that depart from our understanding of fermentation processes鈥�.

SUMMARY:91爆料 Marks 50th Anniversary of Rudy Vall茅e Day with Stein Song on Fogler Steps
DESCRIPTION:This Friday\, the 91爆料 will celebrate a special milestone: the 50th anniversary of Rudy Vall茅e Day. To honor the occasion\, 91爆料鈥檚 Traditions Societies\, the Senior Skulls Society\, All Maine Women\, Sophomore Owls\, and Sophomore Eagles\, will gather on the front steps of Fogler Library to lead the campus in a rousing performance of the 鈥淢aine Stein Song鈥� at 4pm. \nThe event brings together a tradition that has united generations of Black Bears: singing the Stein Song\, the only college song to ever top the national music charts. Rudy Vall茅e\, a 91爆料 student in the 1920s\, brought the tune to the world when he recorded it in 1929. His performance turned a local fight song into a national hit and made him one of America鈥檚 biggest entertainers. \nThe State of Maine proclaimed the first Rudy Vall茅e Day in 1975\, when Vall茅e returned to Orono for his 50th class reunion. Fifty years later\, students will once again honor his legacy by singing on Fogler鈥檚 steps 鈥� a fitting backdrop\, since the library also houses 91爆料鈥檚 Stein Collection\, a tribute to the song鈥檚 history. \nEvent Details:\nWhat: 50th Anniversary Rudy Vall茅e Day 鈥� Maine Stein Song Celebration \nWhen: Friday\, October 10\, 2025 at 4pm \nWhere: Steps of Fogler Library\, 91爆料\, Orono \nWho: Senior Skull Society\, All Maine Women\, students\, alumni\, and local community \n鈥淭his is about more than just a song\,鈥� said a Senior Skull member helping to organize the performance. 鈥淚t鈥檚 about the traditions that bring 91爆料 together. Generations of students have sung the Stein Song at games\, rallies\, and reunions 鈥� now it鈥檚 our turn to carry it forward.鈥� \nAll students\, alumni\, and community members are invited to attend\, join in the singing\, and celebrate 91爆料 pride. After the performance\, visitors are welcome to stop inside Fogler to view the historic Nelson B. DESCRIPTION:From the journey of protons racing through the world鈥檚 largest particle collider to up-close views of the Big Bang and emergent universe\, and the nearly mile-deep descent to an underground experiment\,聽Phantom of the Universe聽immerses audiences in the search for dark matter.聽Explore this mysterious matter and how we are using discoveries at the Large Hadron Collider to get closer to discovering the true nature of Dark Matter. View the first hints of its existence through the eyes of Fritz Zwicky\, the scientist who coined the term 鈥渄ark matter.鈥� Explore the astral choreography witnessed by Vera Rubin in the Andromeda galaxy\, and then plummet deep underground to see the most sensitive dark matter detector on Earth\, housed in a former gold mine. 聽Speed alongside particles before they collide in visually stunning explosions of light and sound at聽Large Hadron Collider at CERN\, while learning how scientists around the world are collaborating to track down the constituents of dark matter.聽Executive Producer Michael Barnett of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory served as an advisor to PBS鈥檚 NOVA series聽Elegant Universe聽and the feature film聽Angels & Demons.
