Muralee Das is an Associate Professor of Management and teaches the capstone Strategic Decision Making and the core Management of Contemporary Organization courses in the MBA program, as well as Human Resource Management, Sports Management and Sports Practicum (Consulting) courses in the BSBA program. He was co-leader of the project that resulted in the sports management major at the Maine Business School. In his past appointment at Australia’s Monash University he taught Corporations Law and Business Law.
Muralee’s teaching and research captures insights from his past corporate career as Assistant General Secretary (Assistant Chief Executive Officer) and Director of Human Resources & Services for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The AFC, part of Switzerland based FIFA, is one of the world’s largest sports governing organization overseeing 47 countries. Muralee also served on the Advisory Board of the International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPro) Asia/Oceania division, and was a General Coordinator at the multi-sports Asian Games.
His research articles and case studies on sports gambling, fantasy sports regulation, artificial intelligence in sports, sports governance and corruption in global sports, and strategic management of basketball leagues have been published in The International Sports Law Journal, The Case Journal, UNLV Gaming Law Journal and The Case Research Journal. Three of his research studies on leadership of social entrepreneurs were accepted for presentation at the Academy of Management Conferences.
Muralee’s recent Executive Education work includes designing and implementing talent management workshops for the Silicon Valley health care technology firm Grand Rounds (now Included Health).
Muralee received his PhD in Management from the Melbourne Business School, University of Melbourne in Australia where he was the Ian Kirk Social Entrepreneurship Fellow. He earned a Masters in Commercial Law from University of Melbourne, MBA from University of Nevada-Las Vegas and a BBA from University of Iowa. Muralee, an Australian national and U.S resident, was raised in South East Asia and has worked in the United States, Australia and the Asia-Pacific.
