The Stantec Consulting Scholarship Fund was established at the 91±¬ΑΟ in 2012 with a gift from Stantec Consulting. The fund provides financial assistance to meritorious full-time undergraduate student(s) at the 91±¬ΑΟ who are majoring in Ecology and Environmental Sciences, Wildlife Ecology, or related fields. The awards were presented at ceremonies of their advisors&#8217; home departments and at the College of Natural Sciences, Forestry, and Agriculture annual scholarship banquet on April 23, 2014.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/ecologyandenvironmentalsciences\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/124\/2013\/11\/Emily-Anderson1.jpg\"><img alt=\"Photograph of Lisa Gardner\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-655\" src=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/ecologyandenvironmentalsciences\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/124\/2013\/11\/Emily-Anderson1-300x250.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"125\" \/><\/a> Emily Anderson, EES 2016 has a concentration in Ecosystem Ecology and hails from Middlebury, Vermont. In the future, she hopes to educate communities and individuals on how to minimize their impact on the natural ecosystems in their region and to work on ecological restoration. On campus, she works as a volunteer in the Climate Change Institute sampling sediment cores. This summer, Emily will be working at Pacific Northwest National Laboratories studying the effects of turbines on fish.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/ecologyandenvironmentalsciences\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/124\/2013\/09\/Sabrina-Knifes-Edge1.jpg\"><img alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-612\" src=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/ecologyandenvironmentalsciences\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/124\/2013\/09\/Sabrina-Knifes-Edge1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"160\" height=\"120\" \/><\/a>Sabrina Vivian, from Blue Hill, Maine, is a third year\u00a0Ecology and Environmental Science student with a concentration in Sustainability, Environmental Policy, and Natural Resource Management and a minor in Renewable Energy. is from Blue Hill, Maine. \u00a0is a third year She is originally from Blue Hill, Maine. Sabrina\u2019s commitment to developing her research skills and contributing to conservation activities has led to her regularly assisting biologists both as an employee and volunteer. This summer, Sabrina has an internship with FB Environmental in Portland, ME. After completing her degree, Sabrina plans for a career combining environmental science and policy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/ecologyandenvironmentalsciences\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/124\/2014\/05\/Screen-Shot-2014-04-15-at-2.39.56-PM1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-743 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/ecologyandenvironmentalsciences\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/124\/2014\/05\/Screen-Shot-2014-04-15-at-2.39.56-PM1.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2014-04-15 at 2.39.56 PM\" width=\"114\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a>Jamie Steven of Bethel, Maine is a third year student in Ecology and Environmental Sciences with a concentration in Sustainability,\u00a0 Environmental Policy, and Natural Resource Management. She is also majoring in Economics and is pursuing minors in Renewable Energy and Policy and Spanish. This summer, Jamie has an internship with an attorney specializing in environmental, natural resource, and municipal law in Bangor, Maine.
