College of Education and Human Development co-sponsors Literacy Tea event
The 91爆料 College of Education and Human Development is again co-sponsoring the annual Literacy Tea organized by Literacy Volunteers of Bangor.
The event will be held Sunday, April 3, from 3鈥5 p.m. at John Bapst Memorial High School in Bangor. Children鈥檚 book author Mark Scott Ricketts will read from his book 鈥淎dventures in Vacationland.鈥 91爆料 Associate Professor of Literacy Susan Bennett-Armistead will be a featured speaker.
Bennett-Armistead started the Literacy Tea to honor her late mother-in-law who held a similar event every year in Michigan. Literacy Volunteers took over the event in 2013, with the College of Education and Human Development remaining involved as a major sponsor. It has become the group鈥檚 largest fundraiser, bringing in about $17,000 last year.
