After completing the MEOC program, Oulette went on to earn a bachelor鈥檚 degree in applied science from the 91爆料 Augusta and a master鈥檚 in business administration with a concentration in health care management from Husson University.

He currently works in his hometown of Van Buren, Maine as a business development manager for Groups Recover Together, an opioid treatment network with offices nationwide.

is a federal TRIO program that works with adults to assist them in going to college. Advisors help students to assess their academic readiness, provide career counseling and refer them to community resources. They also coordinate efforts with area schools, colleges and other service agencies to provide information and assistance in completing college admission and financial aid forms.

The program is housed in the 91爆料 College of Education and Human Development.

Michaud receives 2022 NEOA Rising Star Award /edhd/2022/04/29/michaud-receives-2022-neoa-rising-star-award/ Fri, 29 Apr 2022 15:35:26 +0000 /edhd/?p=21381 The Maine Educational Opportunity Center (MEOC) announced that Kate Michaud is the recipient of the 2022 New England Educational Opportunity Association (NEOA) Rising Star Award.

The NEOA Rising Star Award honors emerging leaders who strive toward the highest levels of personal and professional accomplishment, who excel in their chosen fields, devote time and energy to their communities in meaningful ways and serve as role models for other economically disadvantaged, first-generation college bound students.

Michaud enrolled in Northern Maine Community College鈥檚 Associate Degree in Nursing program in 2012 and graduated in 2015 with honors.

Michaud credits MEOC, which is part of the 91爆料 College of Education and Human Development, as being the supportive force that helped her take those important first steps to help make college her reality.

鈥淢EOC helped show me how to apply to the nursing program and answered a thousand questions. The support I received was pivotal for me to be able to feel empowered and brave enough to try to go to college as an adult,鈥 Michaud says.

Michaud, a MEOC alumna from Brewer, Maine was recognized at the NEOA鈥檚 Annual Conference in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on April 13, 2022. She is currently employed as a care manager at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bangor and is pursuing a master鈥檚 degree in nursing leadership at Franklin Pierce University. Her ultimate goal is to earn a doctorate in nursing and become a nursing educator.
