\"SarahJoySarahJoy Chaples of Bangor is the recipient of the 2020 Outstanding Student in Human Development award from the College of Education and Human Development’s Master of Arts program in Human Development.<\/p>\n

SarahJoy is a community leader helping people live their best lives. She does this through financial literacy education, entrepreneurship training and advocacy as a regional manager for New Ventures Maine. She’s passionate about building up the region’s business support systems and strengthening partnerships between area nonprofits. During the course of her studies, she took a leadership role to create a business plan that will enable the Bangor Area Recovery Network to establish a recovery cafe<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She hopes to use her degree to continue to extend her work. At her home in Bangor, she’s a multitasking mom and tries her best to control the chaos around her.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
