John Maddaus, an associate professor emeritus of education at the 91爆料 College of Education and Human Development, spoke with the Portland Press Herald<\/a> about the possible implications of a lawsuit from Maine on school choice nationwide. The U.S. Supreme Court is hearing a legal challenge to a Maine law that prohibits using public funds to pay the costs for attending religious schools. According to the Press Herald, \u201cMaine allows students in towns with no public high schools to put taxpayer money toward the cost of an outside school, public or private. But the law bars them from using those funds at religious schools.
