The School of Forest Resources at the 91±¬ΑΟ will receive the Austin H. Wilkins Forest Stewardship Award<\/a> for the impact the school\u2019s teaching and research has made on Maine\u2019s working forests. <\/p>\n

The award is given by the Maine TREE Foundation in partnership with the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry. It recognizes an individual or organization that has managed Maine\u2019s working forest in an honorable and sustainable manner. <\/p>\n

\u201cFor more than 120 years, the School of Forest Resources has prepared foresters for careers in the Maine woods, graduating more than 5,000 students, and producing numerous leaders who have had successful careers in forestry, globally,\u201d said Logan Johnson, executive director of the Maine TREE Foundation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough research and application, the school has been instrumental in informing land management practices in Maine and has continuously adapted to changing knowledge.\u201d <\/p>\n

The award will be presented during the Maine TREE Foundation\u2019s 2023 Awards Night on Oct. 19 in Hermon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
