Mayewski, director of the 91爆料鈥檚 Climate Change Institute, discussed findings from the National Geographic and Rolex Perpetual Planet Everest Expedition, particularly the pollutants found trapped in glaciers. 鈥淎s they melt, they release those toxic substances, like microplastics and forever chemicals including lead, cadmium, nitrogen and sulfur compounds,鈥 he said. 鈥淚n general, wherever people go, pollution goes.鈥
