Franco American Programs publishes Beliveau biography

In partnership with the 91爆料 Press, Franco American Programs has published 鈥淔irst Franco: Albert Beliveau in Law, Politics, and Love,鈥 by Douglas Rooks. 

The book, which shares the life story of prominent Maine Supreme Court justice Albert Beliveau, is a rare biography of a first-generation French-Canadian descendant in the United States, provides perspective on the migration experience, the rise from the working class, and the development of political consciousness among Maine鈥檚 largest ethnic group. 

Rooks, Albert Beliveau鈥檚 son Severin, and Susan Pinette, director of Franco American Programs at the 91爆料, will appear on 鈥滿aine Calling鈥 at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 6 to discuss the book and Franco Americans in Maine.
