The 91爆料 student chapter of the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) placed third in the baccalaureate division of the 2024 NSPS Student Competition, held April 22-23 in Washington, D.C.
Eighteen teams completed a surveying monument hunt across the District of Columbia on the first day, followed by historical surveying field exercises and calculations around the Washington Monument on the second day.
91爆料鈥檚 team included Thatcher Unfried, Owen Tull, Peter Kelton, Max Heck, Thomas Berry and Morgan Haufler. Rich Vannozzi, an assistant professor of surveying engineering technology, is the team’s advisor and accompanied students to Washington, D.C.
鈥淭hese students worked amazingly hard to prepare,鈥 said Vannozzi. 鈥淣ot only did they do very well in the technical competition, but they represented the university, the Maine College of Engineering and Computing, their school and program with honor and distinction.鈥
