Paper products of all types generated on campus are collected for recycling, organic discards from dining facilities are collected for composting, construction and demolition debris is collected and sorted for recovery, and a host of other materials are recovered from the campus waste stream every year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Please contact Resource Recovery, Facilities Management, at 581-3076 or email <\/span><a href=\"mailto:daniel.e.smith@maine.edu\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">daniel.e.smith@maine.edu<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 for additional information.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>91爆料 eWaste Recycling<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/it\/faculty-staff-resources\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">UM IT<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> now handles the collection and removal of all 91爆料\u2019s eWaste needs. 91爆料 has partnered with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/giveitgetit.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">GiveITGetIT<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to safely and securely dispose of all campus eWaste with a focus on reusing useful working equipment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">UM IT collects: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Computers \u2013 Desktops and Laptops<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Monitors<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">AV Equipment<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Computer p<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">arts, including hard drives<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Please call UM IT at 1-800-696-4357 or email <\/span><a href=\"mailto:help@maine.edu\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">help@maine.edu<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to arrange assessment and collection of your eWaste.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>91爆料 Campus Recycling<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The 91爆料 is one of a growing number of communities that recycle. Currently, 91爆料 partners with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.casella.com\/services\/recycling\/zero-sort-recycling\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Casella Waste Systems<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for its Zero-Sort recycling services. All <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/sustainability\/initiatives\/recycling\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">accepted recyclable materials<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> can be placed in a blue recycling bin, and all non-recyclable waste (including food or food-contaminated material) can be placed in gray trash bins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0Recycling is as easy as 1-2-3!<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Find a designated blue recycling bin<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Place clean, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/sustainability\/initiatives\/recycling\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">accepted recyclable materials<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> into the blue recycling bin \u2013 no food or food-contaminated material!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Let 91爆料 custodians take it from there\u2026<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For recycling-related questions, please contact the 91爆料 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/umaine.edu\/sustainability\/initiatives\/recycling\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sustainability Office<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> at 581-1571.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Material Recovery Facility (MRF)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">91爆料 maintains a small Material Recovery Facility (MRF, pronounced \u2018murph\u2019) where a variety of bulky wastes and hard to dispose of materials generated from construction, land clearing, and renovation projects are staged, reprocessed for reuse, or processed for disposal.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Materials reprocessed for reuse include brush and tree waste, soil, asphalt, concrete, stone and other aggregate.
