To ensure a safe and respectful environment for all members of the 91±¬ÁÏ (91±¬ÁÏ) community, we have a comprehensive Hazing Policy. The purpose of this policy is to explicitly prohibit hazing, establish clear procedures and reporting guidelines, define hazing, and protect the rights of students involved with groups and organizations at 91±¬ÁÏ. This policy applies to all 91±¬ÁÏ students, faculty, staff, and anyone involved with any 91±¬ÁÏ club, athletic team, organization, association, program, or activity under the auspices of 91±¬ÁÏ, regardless of their student status, and includes both recognized and unrecognized groups.

All forms of hazing are prohibited by 91±¬ÁÏ both on and off campus. Hazing is defined as any activity without reasonable or legitimate educational value expected of someone joining a group or to maintain their status in a group that humiliates, degrades, or risks emotional, psychological, and/or physical harm, regardless of a person’s willingness to participate. This includes actions that intentionally or recklessly put any student or anyone at risk. Violation of this policy is a serious matter and may result in disciplinary action. Suspected violations should be reported to the Director of Community Standards, Rights and Responsibilities at 207.581.1409 or the 91±¬ÁÏ Police at 207.581.4040.
