Whenever races are happening, thousands of spectators gather at the Speedway, with some even camping outside, to enjoy the show.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Summer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Aroostook County<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cariboumaine.org\/index.php\/event\/caribou-city-wide-yard-sale\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">City-Wide Yard Sale<\/a><\/strong><em>Caribou, ME 04736 (May)<\/em>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Annual city-wide yard sale and arts and crafts fair in May. People wishing to participate in the yard sale can fill out a form and will be put on a map with every yard sale. For those wishing to buy from the yard sales, just find the map online and start shopping!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mainetourism.com\/event\/meduxnekeag-river-canoe-kayak-race\/1246\/\"><strong>Meduxnekeag River Canoe Race<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/a><em>From New Limerick to the Riverfront Park, 49 North St, Houlton, ME 04730 | (<span class=\"info-list-value \">207) 532-4216 (May)<\/span><\/em>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This annual spring event has taken place for over 35 years. About 100 paddlers will enter the river in New Limerick, and race 9.5 miles to the Riverfront Park where they\u2019ll also enjoy lunch after finishing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/newengland.com\/yankee-magazine\/travel\/new-england\/valkommen-to-midsommar-celebrating-swedish-culture-in-maines-north-country\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Midsommar Fest<\/a><\/strong><em>Caribou, New Sweden, Stockholm, and Woodland, ME 04736 (June)<\/em>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&#8220;Swedish culture comes alive in New Sweden&#8217;s annual Midsommar Festival in Northern Maine. This traditional Swedish festival holds true to its roots with a colorful three-day event marked by gathering flowers and lighting bonfires to mark the summer solstice.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/northernmainefairgrounds.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Freedom Festival<\/a><\/strong><em>Northern Maine Fairgrounds, 84 Mechanic St, Presque Isle, ME 04769&nbsp;<\/em>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A 3-day event during the 4th of July weekend with an Independence Day celebration, monster truck throwdown, live music, family and kids games, animals, and more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/category\/Community-Organization\/Ashland-Area-Summer-Fest-190336764463715\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ashland Area Summer Festival<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong><em>Ashland, ME 04732<\/em>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fourth of July weekend the town of Ashland throws a great celebration, including live music, fireworks, a parade, and a wide array of festival games and activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/northernmainefairgrounds.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Northern Maine Agricultural Fair<\/a><\/strong><em>Northern Maine Fairgrounds, 84 Mechanic St, Presque Isle, ME 04769 (July)<\/em>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A 6-day event at the end of June &#8211; early July with events including truck and tractor pulling, demolition derby, harness racing, car show, lumberjack roundup, livestock competitions, and fireworks!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/greater-houlton-chamber-of-commerce\/midnight-madness\/320475848768747\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Midnight Madness<\/a><\/strong><em>109 Main St, Houlton, ME 04730 (July)<\/em>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>During the 4th of July weekend, this festival takes place in Market Square with vendors, food, and fun with a street fair vibe. County Bluegrass is the largest public concert venue in the area that features a large camping area and Bluegrass music festivals. Reserve your campsite with family and friends and witness the top bluegrass bands in the country!&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.combf.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Crown of Maine Balloon Fest<\/a><\/strong><em>Northern Maine Fairgrounds, 84 Mechanic St, Presque Isle, ME 04769 (August)<\/em>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Annual event the weekend before Labor Day weekend. It offers a weekend of hot air balloons, kids events, and other family-friendly fun. This event celebrates 1978, the Double Eagle II launching from Presque Isle and making the first successful crossing of the Atlantic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">DownEast Maine<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deerisle.com\/event\/dis-friday-deer-isle\/2017-06-16\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DIS Friday<\/a><\/strong><em>Odd Fellows Hall, Stonington, ME 04681| (207) 385-0042 (June-October)<\/em>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On the first Friday of every month from June through October, there is a pop-up market featuring artisans and food vendors. Local restaurants offer specials, and galleries and studios are open to explore.
