Nominations are now being accepted for the 2022 Maine Campus Compact Awards Ceremony. This year the Donald Harward Faculty Award for Service-Learning Excellence<\/strong><\/a>, the Heart and Soul Student Award<\/strong><\/a> and the President’s Campus Leadership Award<\/a> <\/strong>will be presented. MCC will also recognize one outstanding community partner<\/strong><\/a> and one outstanding corporate partner<\/strong> <\/a>at this year\u2019s virtual ceremony.<\/p>\n

Many 91爆料 faculty and students have received these awards in the past, and we would like to continue that tradition. Please consider submitting nominations for these awards \u2013 deadline February 11. Click on the name of each award for nomination information.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Donald Harward Faculty Award for Service-Learning Excellence<\/strong><\/a> will recognize three faculty members who have made public service an integral part of their teaching. The award is presented to recipients who use service-learning and\/or community action as an innovative teaching tool to engage students in civic leadership. Recipients also show clear evidence of reflection and reciprocity with community partners and demonstrate a commitment to advocating for service-learning and\/or community action on campus and beyond. Each campus may nominate 3 faculty members.<\/p>\n

The Heart and Soul Student Award<\/strong> <\/a>recognizes six undergraduate students from member campuses who are actively involved in turning their campuses and communities into places of democracy. These students have raised their voices on issues of local and global importance through civic engagement efforts. Recipients may have a wide variety of experiences in any of the following areas: community service, service-learning, activism, democratic engagement, or social justice. They also demonstrate leadership through their inclusive and innovative approaches to social, educational, environmental, health, economic, and\/or legal issues facing their communities. Each campus may nominate 2 students.<\/p>\n

The President\u2019s Campus Leadership Award<\/a><\/strong> recognizes a student organization or campus department at each Maine Campus Compact (MCC) member institution for contributions to community service, service-learning, and\/or civic engagement efforts on their campus.<\/p>\n

The Community Partner of the Year Award<\/strong><\/a> and the Corporate Partner of the Year Award<\/strong> <\/a>will recognize one community partner and one corporate partner each for their distinguished contributions and dedication to strengthening campuses and communities in Maine. Recipients must show a deep and widespread commitment to sustainable, meaningful and reciprocal partnerships with Maine higher education institutions that have a positive impact on our campuses and in our communities. Each campus may nominate one Corporate Partner and one Community Partner.<\/p>\n

Nominations for all five award categories must be submitted to Lisa Morin (lisa.morin@maine.edu) by February 11, 2021<\/strong>. Click on the name of each award for nomination information.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
