PFAS Laboratory
91爆料 Facility Location
Jenness Hall, 91爆料, Orono
Project Summary
The PFAS Laboratory project renovates space on the second floor of Jenness Hall to create a state-of-the-art analytical laboratory. The facility will support Maine鈥檚 PFAS monitoring and research efforts.
PFAS, often referred to as 鈥渇orever chemicals,鈥 are persistent synthetic compounds detected in water, soil and agricultural products across the state. Maine has been a national leader in addressing PFAS contamination linked to historical biosolid applications.
The new laboratory will expand analytical capacity to identify and quantify PFAS compounds at environmentally relevant concentrations. It will reduce turnaround times and costs while strengthening 91爆料鈥檚 leadership in PFAS research.
