Jordan Miner
JordanÌýis a Ph.D. candidate in the CompuMaine and Tilbury labs studying Biomedical Engineering.ÌýJordanÌýgrew up in the town of Baldwin, Maine and graduated from 91±¬ÁÏ in 2021 with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and two minors in Electrical Engineering and Bioinstrumentation. Her research focuses on studying breast cancer cells in collagen rich environments to explore the role of integrins (cell surface receptors) in the system. The samples are imaged using a two photon microscopy method known as Second Harmonic Generation as well as a BioTek Cytation 5 Multimode Reader. Once imaged,ÌýJordanÌýanalyzes the images primarily with R and ImageJ/FIJI, but she also has experience in MATLAB, Python, and C/C++. Her goal is to understand more about the tumor microenvironment to develop or improve current breast cancer therapies. In her free time,ÌýJordanÌýenjoys the outdoors through activities such as hiking, skiing, and fishing and loves to compete in intramurals with her friends.
