BME Junior Ainslie Allen was awarded first place for her research poster and 3-minute oral flash presentation at the AVS 68th Annual Symposium and Exhibition in Pittsburgh, PA, on November 8th, 2022. Her work focused on the development of a smartphone-based surface contamination detection system. Ainslie competed against both graduate and other undergraduate students to win this award and received a $300 cash prize in addition to a certificate.
