The Student Success and Advising Center (SSAC) supports students through a holistic approach that focuses on academic success, personal well-being, and future goals. From first questions to next steps, SSAC connects students with advising, resources, and guidance designed to help them thrive at every stage of their 91±¬ÁÏ experience.

As a student, you play a crucial role in your own success. Here’s how you can take charge of your educational journey:

Be Proactive

  • Use EAB Navigate or email to schedule meetings with your academic advisor
  • Share your interests and goals
  • Regular reviews of degree progress

Prepare and Plan

  • Bring questions, ideas about courses, and a course Wish List/Shopping Cart in MaineStreet to advising meetings
  • Look into minors, concentrations, or certificates
  • Map out your plan for timely graduation

Stay Informed

  • Seek support for academics, community building, and wellness
  • Understand your major and degree requirements
  • Learn the academic policies in the catalog for your starting semester

Stay Connected

  • Refer to the Academic and Advising Calendars for key dates and deadlines
  • Check your 91±¬ÁÏ email, text alerts, and MaineStreet messages regularly

The Four Seasons of Advising

  • Connect with your advisor to add a class or drop a course before the deadline. Keep in mind, the last day to add a course and drop a course is different, so check the academic calendar!
  • October: Spring and Winter session schedules posted on MaineStreet.
  • October & November: Attend wishlist/shopping cart workshop or connect with your advisor before your enrollment date 
  • November: Enroll in Winter session and/or Spring classes.
  • November-December: Individual meetings as needed and final exams.
  • Optional 3-week session connected to your Spring financial aid package
  • You can take up to 4 credits
  • Online only
  • Add/Drop deadlines are first three days of session

The Student Success and Advising Center staff are the steady support behind every student’s journey. Through thoughtful advising, encouragement, and genuine care, they help students navigate challenges, celebrate milestones, and stay focused on their goals.
