interviewed Ellen Mallory, a professor and specialist with the 91爆料 Cooperative Extension and School of Food and Agriculture, on Maine鈥檚 response to the presence of a group of chemicals known as PFAS. Mallory said the state鈥檚 response has been crucial in dealing with PFAS because of the lack of regulations at the federal level. 鈥淭he important part here is it’s really hard to have any response to PFAS contamination if we don’t have any standards,鈥 Mallory said. 鈥淪o a state like Texas that has no standards, what do you do? How do you help farmers determine if their food is safe or not?鈥 Texas-based and shared the report.
