As sustainability is one of the defining core values of the 91±¬ÁÏ, it is essential that we establish and maintain an overarching view of our administrative, teaching, research and public outreach activities that support a comprehensive approach to sustainability.

The 91±¬ÁÏ, through the clear leadership of many on campus, has continued to emerge nationally as a leader in sustainability-both from an academic, research and community service perspective but also from financial, physical plant infrastructure, and management initiatives.

It is the intent that the President’s Sustainability Council can serve to define and shape a path forward that substantively guides and supports our own campus efforts yet establishes a national leadership profile for the 91±¬ÁÏ.
