The mission of the University Volunteer Ambulance Corps is to provide the highest quality of care, both physical and emotional, to the 91±¬ÁÏ community in accordance with all regulations set forth by Maine EMS. As a service, it is our commitment to educate and mentor all individuals in leadership dimensions and encourage a well-rounded education.
what we do
The University Volunteer Ambulance Corps, also known around campus as UVAC, is the on-campus emergency medical service (EMS) for the 91±¬ÁÏ. Our ambulances respond to emergency calls at the 91±¬ÁÏ and provide mutual aid to surrounding towns and agencies. We are inspected and licensed by Maine Emergency Medical Services on a yearly basis, and carry the equipment necessary to provide the highest level of pre-hospital care.

UVAC offers a robust selection of lifesaving training courses through 91±¬ÁÏ Training & Safety. All instruction follows American Heart Association standards and is taught by certified UVAC personnel at Cutler Health Center.
